I find working with kids is a lot of fun. They find joy in the smallest things, and in turn bring out the child in everyone who’s there to witness it. So, it was only fitting that I had a great time when Eva came in to my home studio for her cake smash.

Eva was such a joy to work with, full of smiles giggles and dancing. She was joined by her big brother Oliver and we got a few shots of the two of them together before we brought out the birthday cake. I kept the backdrop quite simple, using a custom-made metal sign from the very talented Jay at The Fox in Flora, a white cloth back drop, and some green ivy. We finished the cake smashing with a quick splash in my vintage style bath. This is always such a good opportunity to grab some fresh images, keep little one entertained and clean up any mess before they head back home.

As you can see from the photos, we had a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to more cake smashes in the future. I just hope all my future smashers are this happy!

Thanks to Eva for being the perfect model, and Eva’s lovely family for allowing me share these photos of their beautiful babies.
