Kia Ora, I’m Sarah!
As the youngest of four children growing up in Leeds, Northern England I always felt the need to push boundaries and find my place in the world. True to form I left the UK in October 2010 for what I thought would be a six-month backpacking trip to Australia. Almost 10 years later, I am happy to say my love for adventure led me to the shores of New Zealand. Leaving home at 23 and carving out a life across the world isn’t something I ever thought I’d do and yet here I am. It is my biggest achievement to date and I am immensely proud and grateful to call Auckland my home.
I am a very proud auntie of four gorgeous boys (pictured above with my partner Roy), and one equally gorgeous niece who lives in Australia.
I’ve “officially” photographed weddings, families and babies for over three years now and I can honestly say that I love every minute of it! Photography is my creative outlet, and having come from a large family myself I find nothing better than hanging out with my clients and capturing their memories.
How do I work?
I’m the type of photographer who takes a step back and lets the action happen around me. After all, this is your story so it makes no sense for me to tell it for you. I will happily guide you on how to get the best out of your photos, but ultimately I will capture you having fun, and being yourself – that’s where the best images come from – the ones where you forget I’m even there!
I like to treat my clients like friends. I share in the laughter and the tears and all the emotions that go right along with those moments. Much like a good friend would. And I like to get to know you prior to our meeting – whether that’s a phone call, a chat over Skype or grabbing a coffee or wine before big events, like your wedding! It’s my job to find the balance of personal and professional, and to make sure we click (pun intended!)
I won’t ever pretend to be perfect, and equally, I don’t expect you to be either. After all, we are humans. I will always be open and honest about how I work, and if that means I’m not the right photographer for you then I am happy to recommend others in the industry that might suit you better.
And if you still need a bit of convincing, my clients say it best – you can find their kind words right here on my website.
Looking forward to speaking soon,
