My style of photography has always been quite documentary. Capturing life events in motion, rather than static images. And I know I love working with children and capturing little ones, so focusing my attention on families seemed to be the right place for me.

Knowing that I wanted to work more with babies and children I put a call out on my Facebook page for models for a new service I wanted to add to my portfolio – Fresh 48.

So what’s that? Well, it’s a newborn lifestyle session designed to capture the first few hours of your new arrival. It can take place in hospital, birth care or in the comfort of your home all within 48 hours.

My first session was with the wonderful Jensen family. Kayla was expecting her fourth baby, although when I met her you wouldn’t think she was almost ready to pop (although her bump did give it away!) as she was so energetic.

Fast forward a few weeks, and after a very quick home birth little Lachlan was ready for his first photoshoot. We decided to do this at home so it was a really relaxed time to capture the whole family.

Lachlan was such a joy to capture, and he’s very lucky to have such a loving set of siblings and doting Mum and Dad. A big thank you to the Jensen family for allowing me to capture the new addition to their family.

Looking for newborn photos? Get in touch and let’s schedule a time to capture the arrival of your little one. Gift vouchers are also available for family and friends.
